It is a woven silk picture.

It was made by J and J Cash's. This belonged to Leslie Mallet, who was the head designer for Cash's.
Leslie was originally from Nottingham, and moved to Coventry as a child. He then began working at Cash's. During World War 2, he served in the RAF in Burma, where he worked in the plotting room and saw many things behind enemy lines. Leslie was awarded the Burma Star. After the war ended, he returned to his job at Cash's, where he became Chief Designer.
