Early deeds tend to call both Much and Little Park Streets "Park Street", but BA/H/H/409/1 (c.1210) is believed to be the earliest borough archive one which refers to Little Park Street. It was called "Little" Park Street because it led to Cheylesmore Little Park, which was entered by Little Park Gate. The houses of gardens south of Cow Lane stretched westward to the palisade and ditch of Cheylesmore Manor thereabouts. Little Park Street was widened and almost entirely rebuilt as part of the reconstruction after the Second World War, which destroyed all but two interesting buildings.
