1904-63.Pearl Hyde was on the city council, for Walsgrave Ward, from 14th Dec. 1937 until her death on 15 April 1963, and as an alderman from 7th Oct. 1952. She was a Women's Voluntary Service organiser; She was the first woman to become Lord mayor in 1957-58. During this time she visited Dresden - see PA465/296/1. As a General Municipal Charities trustee, see PA488/1/4/2/4 (1958). PA2590/1/8,9,13; PA2590/4/53 are photographs which include her. See PA2567/4/85 and PA3251.
