By mayor, bailiffs and commonalty to William Jesson junior (of Coventry, clothier) of a croft outside the town wall near Gosford Gate, being 38 yards by the riverside and 67 yards long, covering 0.75a. (successively occupied by William Ambrose and the whittawer Francis Clarke), with "the usuall way" through the entry of a tenement (late held by W. Ambrose) at Gosford Gate by means of a postern in the wall and a bridge over the river to the croft; to be held from 25 Mar 1646 for 31 years at 10/- per annum. [Former reference: 21 Charles I/a/4.]
