Reg no: XRW 964M. Road going motorcycle with a 500cc engine. This machine was ridden around the world by Ted Simon starting in 1974 covering 50,000 miles in four years, who has written two books about his adventures called Jupiters Travels and Riding Home. Known as The ‘Transworld Trumpet’ is one of the best known motorcycles in in the motorcycle adventurers circles.
This machine has been retained in the condition that it was in when it finally returned to England in 1978, the pannier on the off-side of the motorcycle still carrying the map showing the route taken. Ted Simon rode this machine to the Museum soon after returning from his travels and very generously donated it to the collection.
