As in BA/A/G/6/1.IV's first recital, whereby, having recited: firstly, the 23 - 24 Jun 1829 lease and release, with Trinity term, 2 George IV final concord, whereby James Troughton senior, with his wife Sarah, released to William Underwood (in 1830 described as of Coventry, grocer) Earl Street hereditaments as he might appoint, Reverend James Troughton junior, Thomas Ball Troughton, Samuel Sharratt, Samuel Carter and Thomas Hine also participating; secondly, that on 1 Jul 1829 William Underwood appointed the premises to Peter Dowley Jackson (in 1830 described as of Coventry, draper) upon mortgage of £400 plus £5% per annum repayable on 1 Jan [1830]; thirdly, the 15 Apr [1830] assignment for 5/- of W. Underwood's estate [cf. PA101/1/389] by Shirley Farmer Steele Perkins (esq.), Henry Lea and Charles Laing (gentlemen), commissioners [10 Feb 1830] upon Underwood's bankruptcy, to John Beamish (in the main deed described as of Lillington, Warwickshire, farmer) and Thomas Rotherham (in the main deed described as of Coventry, miller) since he owes Robert and John Bunney and Thomas Pepper (of Coventry, bankers) over £100; fourthly, that £400 principal and £20 interest is still due; fifthly, that John Beamish and Thomas Rotherham have agreed to sell William Odell (of Coventry, hatter) the property for £680; and sixthly, that £420 should be paid to Peter Dowley Jackson out of the £680: therefore, in consideration of £420, £260 and 5/- paid respectively to Peter D. Jackson, J. Beamish with T. Rotherham, and W. Underwood, they convey to William Odell a messuage (formerly two) in Earl Street (adjoining one successively held by (1) Elizabeth Wright (widow) and - Eaves, (2) Cater Love (gentleman), (3) William Love (gentleman), (4) Edward Heycock, (5) Henry Wells and Widow Dalman on the west, the garden abutting north on St. Mary's Hall), the whole having been successively held by (1) Thomas Green, (2) Thomas Green with James Smith, (3) Elizabeth Simpson, Widow Green and - Milbourne, (4) Richard Worcester with Rebecca Howell, (5) Joseph Heath with Samuel Wakelin, (6) W. Underwood with Arthur Wilfred Merridew; to be held with Joseph Odell as trustee.
